Jennifer Betz, Registrar

Jennifer Betz has been at NCSSM since 2013. Before she came to NCSSM, she taught for 12 years in the classroom and online. She also was a teacher mentor and both developed and taught online professional development courses. She earned her master's degree in public administration from UNC Chapel Hill in August of 2019. Jennifer has two children and spends her free time acting as family taxi and paper crafting.

Jill Masten-Byers, Associate Registrar, Morganton Campus

Jill Masten-Byers joined the NCSSM-Morganton team in April 2021 as Associate Registrar. Prior to joining NCSSM she served as a high school counselor specializing in college and career advising, enrichment opportunities for advanced students, and teaching AP Seminar. Her additional previous experiences in education include serving as an adjunct instructor at Appalachian State University and Catawba Valley Community College as well as decades of teaching swimming and leading summer adventure programs for Camp Broadstone and the Boy Scouts. Jill earned her bachelor’s degree from Manchester University in peace studies and conflict resolution and master’s degrees in school counseling and educational leadership, as well as a post-master’s certificate in expressive arts counseling from Appalachian State University. In her spare time, Jill lends her technical skills to her church, Habitat for Humanity, and the Robin’s Run Foundation scholarship program. She especially enjoys spending time in the outdoors with friends hiking, biking, and kayaking.

Sandie Shoe, Associate Registrar, Durham Campus

Sandie Shoe started at NCSSM in 2016, serving as the Mathematics Department Program Associate. In June 2021, she joined the Registrar's Office as an Associate Registrar. She enjoys working with students and families. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, writing, reading, walking her dogs, and watercolor painting. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
